I don't think Apple has any motivation to get you to switch to Resolve, but FCP. I also use it to do incremental backups of media drives, so I can quickly update a backup of a media drive using CCC which will automatically add new files and updated files to a backup drive. I'm pretty sure there's a free trial, but it's worth every penny. as you can reinstall the OS if your startup drive gets corrupted or fails and needs to be replaced and then do a system migration to load all your apps and settings, etc from the clone. but having a clone of your startup drive is useful. Of course, apple has broken this workflow with the latest hardware. But I suggest you invest in carbon copy cloner which will allow you to create a bootable backup of your startup drive before you do an update.Īnd then update to ventura and if there are any serious issues you can restore your previous setup by cloning back from the clone to your startup drive.
